Description:
The Zetsaw Dozuki Fine 240 is a Dozuki-nokogiri Japanese Saw. The Dozuki (as it’s more commonly referred to in the West) has been the mainstay of professional cabinet makers, temple builders, furniture restorers, etc., for centuries.
The Zetsaw Dozuki Fine 240 (along with all Dozuki-nokogiri) has a blade that is super thin, which is steadied by a long metal spine. This allows for precision joint work of softwoods and reduces “chattering” when cutting thin boards.
The Kataba blade of the Zetsaw Dozuki Fine 240 has an extremely fine tooth configuration for smooth finishes to cuts, which reduces the need for major clean up of the joint. The teeth are impulse hardened for greater blade longevity with an effective cutting length of 240mm. The blade is supported by a stiffening spine, which is incorporated into the handle.
This saw has a solid wood handle, with a full rattan wrap for that traditional Japanese saw look and feel. If you want less rattan then click here to purchase the Zetsaw Dozuki Fine H-240.
Benefits & Features:
Kataba Blade: The super thin blade is steadied by a long metal spine.
Extremely Fine Teeth: For precise cuts and a smooth finish of softwood joint work, every time.
Stiffening Spine: Reduces bending and buckling of the super thin blade during use. It also reduces “chattering” when cutting thin boards
Pull Saw: Cutting on the pull stroke, rather than the push stroke, reduces the risk of blade flex whilst cutting.
Blade Replacement System: Reduces the need to get teeth sharpened and re-set, when in the middle of a project. Simply replace the blade and continue on with what you were doing. This system also means you will not have to buy a complete new saw, should the blade break. Replacement blades for this saw can be purchased here.
Hook Fixing: For easy and speedy blade replacement. No need to have multiple saws, just swap the blade out for different tasks, with compatible blades. Great for smaller workshops with limited storage space. Click here to download the PDF guide on replacing the blades on saws with hook fixing blades.
Full Rattan Handle: The solid wood handle has a full Rattan wrap, providing that traditional Japanese Saw look and feel.
Impulse Hardening Technology: Treating the teeth in this way helps keep them sharp for much longer than conventional methods. Whilst the core of the blade remains tough, yet flexible, to reduce bending and buckling during use.
Blade Length: 240mm of effective cutting, with an overall blade length of 269mm.
Blade Thickness: 0.3mm.
Blade Pitch: 1.0mm [25 TPI].
Kerf: 0.4mm. Cuts with the Zetsaw Dozuki Fine 240 produce less sawdust and reduce wood waste, than conventional Western saws.
