Caring For Your Piece

If you look after something, it can last you a long time. The same goes for your Silverhand Creative handcrafted piece. If you want to get the most out of your purchase, all you have to do is take note of the few important guidelines below.

UV Or Not UV, That Is The Question

Try, as much as possible, to keep your piece out of constant direct sunlight. Whilst the topcoat varnishes I use on my creations do have some level of UV inhibitors in them, constant direct sunlight will age the wood and/or diminish the vibrancy of any colourful stains used, over time.

Dust To Dust

To remove dust from your piece, wipe over with a lint-free or microfibre cloth. Do not be tempted to use polishes or waxes, as these may mar or deteriorate the piece's finish. This is especially important for any item that has a gloss or satin topcoat, but also applies to any piece with a matt finish.

Clean Up Your Mess

Little accidents and spills do happen. So, should you splash a little something over your piece, don’t panic. Pat the piece dry with paper kitchen towel immediately to avoid any staining of the topcoat, should the spill not be just water.
