Description:
The Zetsaw Handy160 Flush is a Kugihiki-nokogiri Japanese Saw. These saws are predominantly used for the flush trimming of dowels, etc, but can be used to make rip, cross and slant (mitre) cuts.
The Kataba blade of the Zetsaw Handy160 Flush has zero “set” to the teeth. Thus, it is less likely to scratch or damage your workpiece, when trimming dowels, etc. The teeth are also impulse hardened for greater blade longevity, and have an effective cutting length of 168mm.
Benefits & Features:
Kataba Blade: Is very flexible, making it easier to flush trim in awkward areas on your project.
Zero Set Teeth: This means that the teeth are less likely to scratch or mark the surface of the wood, whilst flush trimming dowels. The teeth have a “Universal” configuration, so you can also use this saw for making rip, cross or slant cuts.
Pull Saw: Cutting on the pull stroke, rather than the push stroke, reduces the risk of blade flex whilst making cuts.
Blade Replacement System: Reduces the need to get teeth sharpened and re-set, when in the middle of a project. Simply replace the blade and continue on with what you were doing. This system also means you will not have to buy a complete new saw, should the blade break. Replacement blades for this saw can be purchased here.
Hook Fixing: For easy and speedy blade replacement. No need to have multiple saws, just swap the blade out for different tasks, with compatible blades. Great for smaller workshops with limited storage space. Click here to download the PDF guide on replacing the blades on saws with hook fixing blades.
Flared Handle: The elastomer-skinned handle has a flared end for a comfortable, slip-resistant grip.
Impulse Hardening Technology: Treating the teeth in this way helps keep them sharp for much longer than conventional methods. Whilst the core of the blade remains tough, yet flexible, to reduce bending and buckling during use.
Blade Length: 168mm of effective cutting, with an overall blade length of 204mm.
Blade Thickness: 0.5mm.
Blade Pitch: 1.4mm [18 TPI].
Kerf: 0.5mm. Cuts with the Zetsaw Handy160 Flush produce less sawdust and reduce wood waste, than conventional Western saws.
