Description:

The Zetsaw Handy150 Fine Craft is a Dozuki-nokogiri Japanese Saw. The Dozuki (as it’s more commonly referred to in the West) has been the mainstay of professional cabinet makers, temple builders, furniture restorers, etc., for centuries. It is typically used for fine joint work of solid timber, but the Zetsaw Handy150 Fine Craft has a blade and teeth that have been specifically designed for use on soft metals and plastics.

The Kataba blade of a Dozuki has a super fine tooth configuration for smooth finishes to cuts, which reduces the need for major clean up of the joint. The teeth are impulse hardened for greater blade longevity with an effective cutting length of 150mm. The blade is supported by a stiffening spine, which is incorporated into the handle.

Benefits & Features:

Kataba Blade: This blade is specifically designed for use on soft metals (aluminium, copper, etc), plastics (PVC, Vinyl) and bone. But, may also be used for cuts on small solid timber profiles.

Super Fine Teeth: For precise cuts and a smooth finish every time, no matter what the material you’re working on.

Stiffening Spine: Reduces bending and buckling of the blade during use.

Pull Saw: Cutting on the pull stroke, rather than the push stroke, reduces the risk of blade flex whilst cutting.

Blade Replacement System: Reduces the need to get teeth sharpened and re-set, when in the middle of a project. Simply replace the blade and continue on with what you were doing. This system also means you will not have to buy a complete new saw, should the blade break. Replacement blades for this saw can be purchased here.

Hook Fixing: For easy and speedy blade replacement. No need to have multiple saws, just swap the blade out for different tasks, with compatible blades. Great for smaller workshops with limited storage space. Click here to download the PDF guide on replacing the blades on saws with hook fixing blades.

Flared Handle: The elastomer-skinned handle has a flared end for a comfortable, slip-resistant grip.

Impulse Hardening Technology: Treating the teeth in this way helps keep them sharp for much longer than conventional methods. Whilst the core of the blade remains tough, yet flexible, to reduce bending and buckling during use.

Blade Length: 150mm of effective cutting, with an overall blade length of 185mm.

Blade Thickness: 0.3mm.

Blade Pitch: 0.9mm [28 TPI].

Kerf: 0.36mm. Cuts with the Zetsaw Handy150 Fine Craft produce less waste, than conventional Western saws.

About Zetsaw
